ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ gets high marks in national ratings of higher education institutions

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Rankings image

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ recently received a plethora of accolades as several sets of rankings have been published that demonstrate the university’s value and position as a provider of high quality education . In addition to the announcement in early August that ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ was named one of the Best 382 Colleges by the Princeton Review, recent weeks have brought news of four other favorable rankings by Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, MONEY magazine and Moody’s Investors Service.

Rising 15 spots from last year, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ landed on Forbes’ America’s Top Colleges list for the fifth year in a row. It was also the highest ranked Maine School, rising two spots from last year’s standing, in the U.S. News & World Report list of America’s Best Colleges in the Best Regional Universities category for the North, a distinction that ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has held continuously for seven years. As it was in 2016, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ was listed among the year’s Best Colleges by MONEY magazine; and also for the second time, it received a financial ranking of A3 from Moody’s Investors Service.

Forbes, U.S. News & World Report and MONEY based their rankings on a variety of factors, including quality of education; affordability; retention and graduation rates; alumni salary and giving; student satisfaction; and financial resources. The Moody’s ranking focused exclusively on the financial vitality of the institution, noting in its report that the A3 ranking “acknowledges ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s niche role as a growing, health sciences focused university with strong management and careful planning.â€

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ President James Herbert, Ph.D., responded to the ratings announcements with pride. “These rankings are a testament to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s dedication to our students. We provide them with a high caliber education, an extremely satisfying college experience and the potential for a remarkable return on investment upon graduation. It is gratifying to see that those attributes of the university are being so widely recognized.â€
